Ontario’s Environmental Commissioner Dianne Saxe is making a special presentation on the Environmental Bill of Rights and Climate Change on Thursday May 25 at Portland Community Hall. This event is hosted by Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark, and is open to the public.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the presentation to begin at 7 p.m. Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for audience members to engage with Commissioner Saxe during a question-and-answer session.
This promises to be an interesting and information evening, and we encourage BRLA members to attend. In Mr. Clark's words, "As residents - both seasonal and year-round - you understand the need to balance activity on our beautiful, UNESCO World Heritage designated Rideau Waterway system and other area lakes with protection of the environment. Commissioner Saxe’s presentation will provide an opportunity for us all to understand what tools we have to ensure this precious resource will be there for future generations to enjoy."
